It’s been months since we demoed the master bedroom closet. If you want to get into details, it’s been approximately four (almost five) months. Yikes! You can see where we left off with the closet in this post.
I’ve been trying not to complain, but it’s been painful last four months without a dedicated closet for our things. All of our clothes have been thrown about in so many places. It’s made getting ready in the morning pretty chaotic.
Rebuilding the master closet was a project that really needed to get done since the original closet was just hanging on by a thread. But once we finished laying the flooring in the master bedroom we decided we didn’t really like the quality of the laminate that we chose. It was a rookie move going with something extremely cheap from a big box store. We won’t make that mistake again!
You can read all about our new flooring in the last post here. But basically what happened is that we decided it was probably best to hire professionals for the flooring. So the rest of our projects (the closet) got put on hold while we tried to source a better laminate option and waited for contractors to have openings in their schedule to book the flooring install.
Once the floors were installed we were able to tackle the closet. And since we were able to sit on this project for four extra months, it gave us a lot of time to figure out what to do with the layout. Here is the final version.
After going back and forth for awhile about the jewelry drawers I decided to remove them from the design. It was just too hard to cram everything into such a small closet. So right now I’m thinking about other ways to organize my jewelry elsewhere in the bedroom.
After a few days of work and a few trips to Home Depot to pick up all the supplies we completed the closet!

I think it looks pretty great. Once the paint and caulk dries I can’t wait to fill it up and get everything organized and back to normal.
